A Pinehurst resident has received several letters from insurance companies wanting to sell her insurance in case there’s a leak or break in the water line between the water meter and the street. This is a scam, and if you get such a letter, don’t fall for it.
We are responsible for the line from the house to the meter, but Seattle Public Utilities is responsible for the line from the meter to the street. You do NOT benefit from insurance for that section.
we did get a letter selling insurance – but I believe it said from house to meter. Tossed it anyway but the idea isn’t a bad one!
