The North District Council met last night to vote for our three recommendations to pass along to the city for the Bridging the Gap Large Projects Fund. There were multiple rounds of voting and while Pinehurst’s project started out really strong it unfortunately missed the top three by a tie-breaker vote.
We’ve been asked for only our top three choices but we’ll be sending along all of them just in case something higher up gets disqualified for some reason. We also feel that our district has a greater need than many and hope that more projects might be considered.
Here’s the final ranking:
1 Meadowbrook 110th (2007-208)
2 Cedar Park 125th (2007-019)
3 Lake City 33rd (2007-015)
4 Pinehurst 115th (2007-065)
5 Olympic Hills 130th (2007-018)
6 Lake City 120th (2007-022)
7 Maple Leaf 8th (2007-436)
8 Jackson Park 135th (2007-516)
All of these projects are important and deserve funding and the North District Council and the Pinehurst Community Council will continue to explore other funding options while also pushing for more funding in general.
Also, I wanted to thank everybody for all their hard work on this already length process.
