Seattle, WA 98104From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, Mayor McGinn will hold a City Hall Open House to celebrate the city’s commitment to openness, transparency and the spirit of service in Seattle. McGinn will give his inaugural speech during the event, at 3 p.m. at the grand stairs in the main hall.
In addition, the public will be able to meet the mayor, tour the Mayor’s Office and connect directly with many city departments that will be represented by exhibits, staff and volunteers in the Bertha Knight Landes Room. Members of the City Council and the City Attorney will be participating.
The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs will organize performances by local musical groups and offer tours of the art exhibits on display. Scheduled performers include Warren Chang, world renowned Erhu master and founder of the US China Ensemble; Quinton Morris, classical violinist with piano accompaniment; the Victor Noriega Trio, Filipino inspired jazz pianist; and Quichua Mashis performing Andean music by Quichua Indians from northern Ecuador.

Seattle, WAThe Inaugural Music Festival, a free, all-ages event featuring Wheedle’s Groove, The Maldives, Hey Marseilles and Gabriel Teodros will be held at the Showbox SODO, 1700 1st Avenue South, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, January 9.
In addition, popular local food vendors will be parked outside the venue serving a range of culinary offerings. Scheduled mobile food vendors include Marination Mobile, Kao Samai Thai, Gert’s BBQ and others.
