Seattle Parks and Recreation is planning its acquisition and development projects for the upcoming six years and identifying the demands, needs and priorities in a park development plan. The latest plan, the Seattle Parks and Recreation 2006 Development Plan, is being updated and it is anticipated that this 2011 Plan will be completed by the end of this year. The goal of this plan is to establish eligibility for State grants through the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office.
Seattle Parks is asking for your input in determining the priorities for Seattle’s outdoor recreation and park needs.
We encourage you to participate by attending the upcoming meetings in March and by answering this quick survey.

Development Plan Meeting
Please include Northgate
This is a Save the Date notice for those who have a stake in the Northgate community, with details to follow next week. We are planning a Mayor’s Neighborhood Visit for March 19th starting at 10:30 a.m. The planned route will take us from the Northgate Community Center, through Thornton Creek Park #6 to the Maple Leaf Community Garden. After a walk along the new daylighted section of the creek, we will check out the Metro Transit Center then return to the Aljoya Thornton Place community meeting room for a Q&A session.
I hope you can join us and that you can spread the word to your community especially about the Aljoya gathering (probably at 11:30 a.m. but the schedule is tentative at the moment. I will keep you informed of updates.)
