Where: Thornton Creek Park #1. Trailhead at 1100 NE130th St. Park at end of the road or near 12th NE & NE 130th
When: This Saturday, March 26th, 9am -3pm. Rain or shine. Helping just part of the time is good too.
Who: Neighbors, Friends Of Thornton Creek Park #1 members, YOU…and that strong friend of yours. Anyone 10 and over is welcome.
Why: We need to repair social trails. For a change, it’ll be a work party that involves brain as well as brawn. You will be fixing a bridge and trails, cutting/placing cedar branches to make corduroy trails over wet spots, (maybe) maintenance on the nature viewing station, (maybe) draining a hole created by a recently downed tree. There’s also simple wood-chip spreading to be done up near the road. Most all of these things I’d characterize as having a big pay-off for not much work. 🙂
What to Bring: Dress in layers. Gloves. high boots. Shovel. Extra points for you if you bring any of the following: wader boots, a favorite wood saw, battery powered saws-all w/ branch blade, a small sledgehammer, a wheelbarrel, a few large rocks/boulders (min 12″ diameter), one to six 3′ or 4′ metal stakes, cold beer for afterward? 🙂
Food/Drink: Bring your own
It’s much better to RSVP (to Kelly below) if you can, or just show up ready to rumble!
