It had been a while since I had heard anything about the Jackson Park perimeter trail project, but apparently the design team has been selected. Next week there will be a public meeting with proposed designs.
Hey, Jackson Park Trail folks, keep us in the loop, okay?
Details on the event…
Seattle Parks and Recreation invites you to join in the first public meeting for the Jackson Park Golf Course Capital Improvements. Come meet the design team and learn about the project. The design team and Parks staff will present proposed designs for the new driving range, perimeter trail, cart paths and modifications to holes 10 and 11.
Seattle Parks selected a team led by RW Thorpe & Associates to lead the design for the driving range. Additional team members include WaterLeaf Architects, OB Sports, ICON Golf, Sparling, Dowl HKM, PRR and TSI. Seattle Parks Senior Landscape Architect, R. Frank Robinson, is leading the design for the perimeter trail.
Parks selected golf course Architect Todd Schoeder /ICON Golf Studio to design new golf holes on 10 and 11, cart paths and other proposed modifications to the course.
These projects were identified during the Golf Master Plan process available at http://seattle.gov/parks/projects/docs.htm#plans, and funding is provided by 2010 General Obligation Bonds.
Whether you are hearing about this for the first time, or are already actively involved, we encourage you to come to the meeting and learn about the next steps for this project. We look forward to meeting you and encourage you to join in.
