Lake City Live has another interview up and they recently got shown around Elliott Bay Brewery’s Lake City brew pub. You should go check out the whole thing because it’s not that long but I wanted to share a few of my favorite details.
First, they’re behind schedule due to permitting and necessary seismic retrofitting but their new plan has them opening in January. Originally, they had been shooting for late fall but they were clear at the time that it was also a moving target. From a local history standpoint it was interesting to hear that they found oak floors under the existing flooring which they’re going to refinish. Anybody know what was there before the game and hobby shop?
Also, it’s always nice to see a commitment to the local neighborhoods:
We’re hoping that our commitment to community will also have an impact on Lake City. We’re branding this as a Lake City brew pub, not just as another Seattle brewery. We truly believe in Lake City and think that as the only brew pub in Lake City, the community will respond well to this addition to the neighborhood.
We hope that locals will see Elliott Bay Lake City as the place to go after work, for Sunday brunch, to get online and do their homework, or after soccer with the kids (because we will be a family friendly pub). We’re hoping we can be not just good neighbors but also a catalyst for more cool development in Lake City.

January can’t come quick enough for me! I’m so excited to have another beer/pub option in the North End!
