Fifty years ago Northgate was a model development for how we would live and work: mostly by automobile and parking lots.
Now with light rail, there’s hope Northgate can once again be a model neighborhood — for walking, biking, and riding transit.
This Saturday, April 28th, 10am – 12 pm, join Futurewise, FeetFirst, and Cascade Bicycle Club for a walking tour and discussion.
It will start with a presentation on principles of transit-oriented communities. Then there will be a tour of the neighborhood on foot, with discussion of particular design and planning issues, including: infill, parking, ped/bike design, and green infrastructure.
Staff from the Seattle Department of Planning and Development, King County Metro, Sound Transit, and Puget Sound Regional Council will be on hand to help answer questions.
