Seattle Police release January to April 2009 crime statistics

Seattle Police released crime statistics for the first four months of 2009. There is one positive note: vehicle thefts are down. However, the bottom line is that other thefts, burglaries, robberies and assaults are up in 2009 over 2008. The increases are throughout the city and not just in one neighborhood. Also, gang and youth violence have also increased.
