In partnership with Meadowbrook Community Center, Sustainable NE Seattle is offering its fourth annual “Hands On Skills Fair.” It is Saturday, February 1st, 2014, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm. Meadowbrook Community Center is at 10517 35th Ave NE.
Folks from our neighborhoods have stepped up to share skills such as food preservation, gluten-free and regular baking, basic plumbing and electrical, tool repair, simple bike maintenance, sewing, and making lotions, just to name a few.
Go to the workshop schedule (at http://sustainableneseattle.org/handson2014/) for a list of classes, and check back often, in case new ones are added!
Classes are free, though there is limited enrollment. Sign-in/registration begins at 9:30 am and classes start at 10:00 am. Registration ensures a space for you, but you may also just show up at the class you want and attend if it is not full.
There is a free lunch at 12:30 pm, with Keynote Address by Seattle urban farmer Diana Vergis Vinh. Registration is required for lunch on the morning of the event.
