I recently posted about some volunteer opportunities through EarthCorp and just got sent another local opportunity in the area. It’s both Saturday March 1st and 8th. This is right in our neighborhood, just south of Jackson Park Golf Course. Looks like a lot of fun.
Everyone can help! Please join the Friends of Licorice Fern Natural Area, this Saturday, March 1st, 10AM -1PM for our planting work party and tour. If you don’t know the park, come explore this gem bordering Thornton Creek! If you do know it, help restore and care for the forest. You’ll find our new trails more friendly, and the plants in pots placed for easy planting. No experience required! Enjoy the sound of the creek and the birds. Or just take a tour to see what we’ve accomplished. All ages welcome, bring the kids! For more information and to RSVP: http://seattle.cedar.
If you can’t make it this Saturday, we will be out in the park again the following Saturday, March 8th, to finish the planting: http://seattle.cedar.
