The effective date for backyard cottage legislation, Ordinance 123141, is December 4th, 2009.
Intake appointments are available no sooner than December 4th, and are scheduled through the Applicant Service Center (ASC) by calling (206) 684-8850. You may call now to schedule an appointment for December 4th and beyond.
My firm, CAST Architecture, has been seeing a lot of interest in the Backyard cottage ordinance. We’ve also seen a lot of confusion related to the ordinance itself. To that end we wrote a "quick start guide" intending to help people better understand the allowances and restrictions in the ordinance.
