“Renee” will soon be transitioning from this Pinehurst Blog.
I started the blog in the summer of 2007 because I hoped to see information better disseminated throughout the neighborhood and to make sure that people know what is happening in land use, sidewalks funding, etc. Since that time, so many smart, engaged, positive and energetic people have stepped up in the neighborhood and have taken on leadership roles.
I have always said that I only have a role until others step up to take over. I hate it when people hang out past their time and muddle in other folks’ stuff. Recently, I have felt a little like I am muddling and I see signs that I should move on. This is really really positive because it means that we have many smart active involved and engaged community members in Pinehurst.
It will be great to have others putting their marks on things and to get to watch and learn more in the process.

Good to hear about blog growth! I took a few urban studies classes in the UW's geography department and that got me really interested in land use/zoning laws and general neighborhood built environment and the expierence that it creates for the lives lived there. The hyper local blogging that takes place around the city is facinating.
