From the Maple Leaf Community Council:
Dear Neighbor:
This month’s Maple Leaf Community Council General Meeting is approaching fast. We’ve put together a great program we believe will be of significant interest to Maple Leaf residents and businesses.
What: Maple Leaf Community Council General Meeting
Date: Wednesday, January 27
Time: 7-9 pm
Place: Olympic View Elementary, 5th NE and NE 95th
** Free, Licensed Childcare Available On Site **Many Maple Leaf residents believe property and other crimes in our area have significantly increased. Two armed robbies in our business district in the past few weeks contribute to this sense of unease. To address this issue and take questions from our neighbors, we’ve assembled a fantastic panel of City officials.
City Attorney Peter Holmes
Councilmember Tim Burgess, Chair of the Public Safety Committee
Councilmember Sally Bagshaw
Seattle Police North Precinct Captain Robin Clark
Seattle Police Community Policing Team Sergeant Dianne Newsome
Seattle Crime Prevention Coordinator Diane HorswillAlso addressed at the meeting will be the answer to the question: EARTHQUAKE! – Where do I go in our area to get help, offer help, or access supplies in case of emergency?
The general meeting format will be (very) short presentations from the invited guests and then we’ll give the meeting over to your questions and concerns. This will be a good time to ask about specific public safety issues in your neighborhood, how to make your house less likely to be burglarized, how best to report incidents, learn what the City is doing to combat the problem, etc.
*PLEASE* pass this e-mail along to your neighbors and encourage them to come to the meeting. Suggest they sign up for our e-mail lists here:
If you have a block watch or other neighbors e-mail list, please post this message to your list.
We look forward to seeing you at the meeting on Wednesday, January 27.
Sincerely,
Your Maple Leaf Community Council
