The Seattle School Board has voted to resolve the school capacity issues in NE Seattle by closing the K-12 alternative Summit program at Jane Addams school and repurposing the building as a traditional K-8 school. The Summit program may move to another building, or the program may be completely closed.
Also, the Board voted to add one classroom at Northgate Elementary and perhaps at Olympic Hills in North Seattle and to allow families in Northeast Seattle to get free bus transportation if they enroll at Olympic Hills.
