The Pinehurst Community Council was started when residents decided it would be worthwhile to be organized in response to local issues such as housing, arson, and park improvements, and has been active since the late 1980s.
Our primary mission as stated in our bylaws is to: (1) support projects to make improvements to the Pinehurst neighborhood, and (2) encourage residents to meet and become better acquainted in order to foster an increase sense of community.
The general boundaries of Pinehurst are NE 130th Street, 5th Ave NE, Northgate Way, and Lake City Way.
Everyone in the community is invited to join the PCC. Our bylaws state that one may consider themselves a member of the PCC if they have attended a PCC meeting within the past year. We have approximately 40 active members and a greater number of residents who are kept informed of community news through the PCC. We occasionally mail newsletters to the 1,200 households within the Pinehurst community.
