I saw one, did you? The U.S. Department of Energy’s Remote Sensing Laboratory is collecting baseline levels of radioactive materials from July 11-28. The study has been planned since 2009. The helicopter will fly about 300 feet above the ground at 70 mph. Data will be used for comparison if a radiation emergency occurs later. That will help determine where potential health effects may exist and to warn people in the affected area.
