Plants Stolen From Pinehurst Pocket Park

Sometime between August 22 and September 10 two witch hazel plants were dug up and removed from Pinehurst Pocket Park at 19th Ave NE and NE 117th St. The thief was very meticulous – you cannot tell there were ever plants in the spots where they once stood.  The City gave us some other plant species to replace them, and we’ll be planting them later in October.

In addition, a push broom stored in the rafters of the kiosk was taken. It’s hard to believe someonenoticed it up there.

The good news – the City is pretty responsive when we report graffiti in the park. If you see graffiti on city property, you can report it to SPU at 206-684-7587.

Recent Rash of Auto Thefts in Pinehurst

Since October 3 there have been four auto thefts or car prowl thefts in our neighborhood:

10/3 115xx blk Lake City Way – theft auto acc (not sure what this is)

10/09 14xx blk NE 120th St – car prowl theft

10/9 115xx blk Pinehurst Way – auto theft

10/13 10xx blk NE 115th St  – auto theft

In addition, this week I saw a parked car whose passenger window was smashed on 20th Ave NE just south of NE 115th St.

Please protect your vehicles from theft. Review Seattle Police car theft prevention tips here. And please be vigilant; if you see suspicious behavior, call 9-1-1.

Patty’s Eggnest Open on Northgate Way

The building housing the now-closed Seattle Crab Co. restaurant on Northgate Way and Roosevelt Way has changed hands again (The Fine Diner is gone). Patty’s Eggnest has expanded into our neighborhood, and it is now open for business.

Anyone want to check it out and report back?
